First things first, your library must offer Hoopla to get access to it. Not every library provides access to Hoopla.
Hoopla works differently than the other library apps. Its advantage is that you have access to the entire library. With a traditional library, if someone checks out a book then you have to wait for them to return it. This is also how Libby works. Not so with Hoopla. Everything is always available.
The catch is you only get a certain amount of borrows. The amount of borrows is specific to your library. I get 12 borrows a month. Also, you have to consume content within the app. No sending books to kindle like Libby.
Hoopla does have a lot of good content. Also, it’s nice to have access to something when you need or should I say want it. If I have to wait weeks for a book I’ll just end up buying it.
There is also a “kids mode”, which removes anything inappropriate for kids. Just hit the Kids button in the top right corner.
So if your into free media then check out Hoopla and see if your library provides free access.
