Last week I wrote about how to get free books using the Libby app.
You can also borrow free books with Cloud Library. The biggest difference between the two: With CloudLibrary you can only read in the app. While with Libby you can also read with the Kindle app or on Kindle E-reader.

The rest is pretty much the same. You need to sign up with your library card. The borrows last for a predefined amount of time. After the time is up the book will be removed from your device. Very similar to Libby.

So why would I get another app for free books if I already have one? Short answer… To get different books. Libby has a great selection but doesn’t have everything. Especially the latest books.

Libby only has a certain amount of copies to lend for each book. If the book is new or popular it will be unavailable for a while.

In conclusion, if you don’t mind reading inside the CloudLibrary app and you have a library card, try CloudLibrary for free books and audiobooks.

Libby requires a pin # from the library selected to gain access.

Yes, you can get your pin# by contacting your local library. Some libraries make their pin# “PIN”.
